What happens when the design calls for curves, open spaces and multiple finishes — but the build still has to stack up?
That was the challenge for Aesthetic Developments on The Fairview Project in Arncliffe, Sydney.
Their renovation of a 1970s brick home called for flowing structural curves inside and out, while retaining the Mediterranean design vision.
Using Dincel 155mm Profile, the team developed a solution that allowed the curved walls to become structural, helping remove columns and create more open internal spaces. The system also accommodated a broad mix of finishes including stone, render, timber, aluminium and plasterboard.
Builder Phil Strati says the benefits carried through to the construction process:
“We achieved substantial cost reductions and expedited the construction timeline by several months, all without compromising our original design.”
For residential builders taking on more ambitious homes, it’s a useful reminder: the right structural walling system can help solve design complexity without making construction more complicated.
