The recent refurbishment of the Wellington Point Jetty
has presented an opportunity for everyone to own a
part of this region’s history.

The Wellington Point Jetty was first constructed in 1937
and originally built on the eastern side, where it was
utilized during WWII for training and now serves as a
key tourist, fishing, and recreational point.

Tango Timber & Steel a locally owned and run business
was successful in acquiring the replaced timber, and is
now offering these for sale!

We currently have available the decking and bearers in
its original condition and if required we can offer bead
blasting, wire brushing, or pressure cleaning services
to intensify its character

Decking – 145 x 45 approximately 2700 – 2900 in
length. These are still structurally sound and suitable to
be reused as decking, joists or cladding

Bearers – 220 x 120. Lengths vary from 1800mm up
5000mm. They have served the jetty well and are
showing the signs of the harsh environment it was
subjected too. The character left tells the storey if its
life. Structural integrity remains in several pieces.

Those familiar with the Bayside area may know of the recently closed and refurbished Wellington Point Pier, where existing timber is being replaced to extend the Jetty’s lifespan.

Recognising the potential for new life in this material, the Tango Timber and Steel team has recently acquired the reclaimed timber, acknowledging the rich history embedded within it.
