VanCootens Grocery, Hardware & Stockfeed Established in 1884, VanCootens is your one stop shop for all of your grocery, hardware and stockfeed needs.

VanCootens Grocery, Hardware & Stockfeed is your one stop shop in Howard. Originally established as White Brothers in 1884 as a grocery, hardware and stockfeed store we still trade in Steley Street as we have done for nearly 140 years. By the 1950’s the store had been renamed to VanCootens and had moved down the street to the location it is today. We are now part of the Friendly Grocer family and

offer great grocery weekly specials as well as a big range of fresh fruit and vegetables. Our hardware department has everything from plumbing fittings to tools and in our stockfeed section you’ll find an extensive range of animal feeds and bird seeds. We also offer a large variety of garden products including plants and seedlings, seeds, potting mixes, sugarcane mulches, garden soils and more. We are pleased to still be locally owned and operated and we are proud to be a part of the Howard community from its past, present and into its future.
