🏡 Timber supports modern construction

The way we build is evolving, and timber is evolving with it.

From traditional onsite construction to precision-manufactured wall frames, roof trusses and prefabricated floor systems, timber offers flexible solutions to suit different projects.

Manufacturing components offsite can reduce work required on site, improve consistency and help keep construction programs moving efficiently.

As Australia looks for smarter ways to deliver more housing, timber framing has an important role to play.

🏡 Renovation friendly

Our homes change as our lives do.

Whether it’s adding an extra bedroom, creating a home office or extending the living area, timber framing can make future renovations and extensions simpler.

Its familiar construction methods and flexibility make it easier to adapt a home as needs change.

Timber isn’t just practical when you build. It can continue to deliver value for years to come.

🔧 Easy to install services

Plumbing and electrical services are part of almost every build.

Timber framing makes it easier and faster for trades to install these services using familiar tools, techniques and construction methods.

When trades can work efficiently, it can help keep the job moving and reduce unnecessary delays between trades.

Another practical advantage of timber framing.

🌱 A lower-impact start

A building’s environmental impact starts long before anyone moves in.

The materials we choose matter too.

Timber products generally require less energy to produce than many alternative structural materials, helping reduce the embodied impact of construction from the start.

Choosing timber framing can be one way to create a lower-impact starting point for a building.

It’s another reason to put timber back in the conversation.

🪵 Fast & flexible to work with

Not everything on a building site goes exactly to plan.

Timber’s versatility means it can be cut, shaped and adapted with familiar tools, helping builders respond quickly to changes and challenges on site.

From the factory to the job site, timber combines precision manufacturing with practical flexibility.

It’s another everyday advantage of timber framing.

🔥🪵 Timber performance under fire is predictable 🪵🔥

Timber burns. But that doesn’t mean its behaviour in a fire is unknown.

When larger timber sections are exposed to fire, the outside forms a protective char layer that slows heat moving into the timber beneath.

This behaviour can be measured, calculated and designed for using established fire engineering principles.

Good fire performance isn’t about whether a material burns. It’s about understanding how the whole structure behaves under fire.

That’s worth knowing when choosing timber.

🪵 Timber is naturally thermally efficient

Timber’s natural insulating properties help keep homes comfortable while reducing the energy needed for heating and cooling.

Unlike highly conductive materials, timber transfers heat more slowly. Combined with good insulation and building design, this can help keep the heat out in summer and the warmth in during winter.

For builders and homeowners, that means greater comfort and potentially lower energy use and running costs.

Timber doesn’t just provide the structure. It can also contribute to a more comfortable, energy-efficient home.

🏡 Built to last 🏡

Timber-framed buildings can achieve a service life of at least 50 years when properly designed and maintained.

Good design, quality construction and ongoing maintenance help timber structures continue performing for decades.

At Eco Truss Company, we’re proud to play our part in building homes designed to stand strong for generations.

🪵 More than just structure

Timber frames and trusses do more than support Australian homes.

As trees grow, they absorb carbon from the atmosphere. When that timber is used in a building, the carbon remains stored for decades.

In fact, an average Australian timber-framed home stores more than 10 tonnes of COâ‚‚e.

That’s another reason to put timber back in the conversation.
