Work Experience is underway at Junction Tools! 👷

This week our nephew Ryan has joined us for work experience, getting a first-hand look at the day to day workings of the family business.

From learning about just afew of the many products we stock and finding his way around the store & warehouse, to helping with some of the jobs along the way- there’s plenty to take in.

And judging by Day 1….Ryan’s got this 👏

For more than 46 years, Junction Tool Supplies has been supplying engineering tools, industrial equipment & safety supplies to businesses across Melbourne & beyond.

The Junction Tools story began with John & Barbara, who built the business from humble beginnings into a trusted industrial supplier, developing relationships with customers & suppliers that would span decades.

In July 2021, the business entered its next chapter when second gen- Richard & Rachael took over, continuing its family ownership whilst bringing their own experience, ideas & strengths to the business.

Richard brings more than 40 years of hands on trade & industry experience. A qualified Toolmaker, his technical knowledge & practical understanding remains an important part of Junction Tools today. Rachael looks after much of the financial & administrative systems that support the day to day running of the business, while also enjoying the more creative side from displays and presentation to marketing.

But being a family business is about much more than who owes it.

It’s about the relationships built over decades. Customers who remember our Barkly st, West Footscray days & are still with us today. Suppliers who have grown alongside us. A team whose knowledge, loyalty & commitment are such an important part of Junction and the customers who continue to put their trust in us.

While products, technology & the way customers do business have changed considerably over the years, the fundamentals have remained the same- knowing the customer, understanding what they need & doing everything we can to look after them.

National Family Business Day is a chance to reflect on what being a family business really means.

For Junction Tools, it’s about recognising where the business has come from, everyone who has contributed along the way and the responsibility of carrying forward something that has been built over more than 46 years .
