Fender optioned auto paint back in the 1960s.
This is similar to one of those rare colours.
Slightly tinted clear, low gloss finish.
Groovy. ☮️

Another project Cam Rees had started.
1984 - ‘85 BC Rich Warlock. Japanese.
Clear had yellowed, chipped, dented, dropped, broken, other damage from decades of rock gigs, smoke, beer etc. 😳🤢 it didn’t smell good. Haha.
Headstock repair, I had to dowel from both sides on this one.
Full repaint, pearl white polyurethane.
Most original parts were still there & put back on.
It’s heavy, big chunk of mahogany.
What a beauty, ready to ROCK

Freaky Friday! What a Kool thing!
‘80s made in Japan, the Quest Manhattan.
Neck & pocket repair.
A players guitar. Scratched & chipped.

Assembled. Fret dress, crown, polish. Fret board oiled & polished.
Intonation. 9s.
25.5” scale.
Plays & sounds great.
The band Sonic Youth used similar guitars.

This rare Japanese ‘80s Quest Manhattan guitar that Cam Rees never got to finish.
He had glued the neck & pocket back together.
I have finished repair & painted it today.
The previous owner fix left three extra holes & oversized original holes.
I have drilled & doweled, before re-drilling holes to correct size and placement.
Paint to repair area only. This is a players guitar not a restoration.
