Bamboozled by the jargon?🤔
Let me help.........😊
One of the many options you’ll hear about is “engineered” flooring.
Here’s what you need to know....
- it is constructed by firstly creating the “core” board which is made using layers of plywood sheets with each layer positioned in a different direction. When these layers are glued together they make a core that is much more stable than solid hardwood planks. On top of the core board is glued a real hardwood veneer which gives the flooring a natural beauty and an authentic look .
What do we mean by “stable”? Much less likely to expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity. And won’t warp or twist. The more layers in the core, the more stable the flooring will be.
- more eco-friendly than solid hardwood because more flooring can be made from each tree.
- easy to instal, maintain and care for
- can be lived on immediately after installation
- available in many species and colours e.g. Oaks, Blackbutt , Spotted Gum, Blue Gum, Hickory, Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak
