At Biax Foundations, we manufacture foundation systems in Australia using 100% recycled Australian waste materials - supporting a more considered approach to construction.

For us, manufacturing locally is about more than where something is made. It’s about supporting local jobs, staying connected to the industries we build alongside, and continuing to invest in stronger foundations for Australia’s future.

We’ve just commissioned our new x4 cavity Keystone mould, and it’s already proving to be a major step change in output.

- 35-second cycle time
- 4 parts per cycle
- +400 units per hour on a single machine

This upgrade means a significant lift in throughput and a major efficiency gain compared to previous moulds. It allows us to service current demand while building the headroom required for further market growth and demand.

For context: running at these speeds, a single machine can now deliver millions of units annually, giving us the scale to support concreters, builders, and engineers right across the country .

This investment in automation and tooling is more than capacity, it’s about building the infrastructure to accelerate adoption and ensures sustainable, cost-competitive foundations become the industry standard.

Our latest 215 pod mould is now online, producing 110 units per hour in our purpose built Biax facility.

With three 215 moulds across the eastern seaboard, Biax Foundations now has the scale to support projects in all states.

Why it matters:

- Efficiency: faster formwork, predictable and consistent supply, reduces space on site, not affected by wind and weather

- Commercial Edge: lighter, easier, lower cost with an increase in concrete yield

- Sustainability: recycled plastic, no polystyrene foam, EPD to qualify our carbon footprint reduction to meet ESG objectives

Two new units rising behind an existing home, and Biax is doing the heavy lifting.

This prominent local builder is back for round two - after a successful run with our standard system, they’ve now stepped up to the Biax 500. Bigger spans. Greater stiffness. Same clean install.

The Biax 500 system is a next-generation void former engineered for larger spans, heavier loads, and faster construction times. Unlike conventional EPS waffle pods, which rely on bulky, low-strength foam to create voids in the slab, the Biax 500 uses a precision-moulded recycled plastic form that delivers greater stiffness and load distribution, without the waste. The interlocking pod design and integrated base plates ensure stability during pour, minimising slab movement and reducing the need for remedial work.

What really sets the Biax 500 apart is its ability to support wider beam spacing and deeper slab depths, opening the door to more efficient engineering designs. This means fewer beams, fewer footings, and a cleaner, more sustainable slab structure, with up to 80% less landfill waste compared to EPS.
