Not your usual roof frame. There's a serious amount of LVL going into this one.

A major structural renovation underway in Coburg North, where the original brick walls have been retained while the internal structure and roof are being completely rebuilt.

What makes this project particularly interesting is the extensive use of F17/E14 LVL, not just for structural beams, but throughout the roof framing, including the trusses. It's not every day you see this much engineered timber going into a residential roof.

Bell Plaster & Building Supplies supplied the F17/E14 LVL, MGP10 structural framing timber and STRUCTAflor YELLOWtongue flooring for the project.

Some impressive framing work from the carpenters on site. Great to see the roof structure coming together.

White horizontal cladding, light-toned brickwork and contrasting dark trims. A combination that works beautifully on this residential build in Altona.

The clean detailing around the windows, corners and eaves brings the exterior together, while plenty of work goes into getting the internal finishes just right.

Bell Plaster & Building Supplies supplied a range of materials for the internal fit-out, including Balmoral doors, primed MDF jambs and architraves, structural timber and door hardware.

We also supplied THOR 905 form-A-guard floor protection and joining tape, helping keep finished surfaces protected while work continues on site.

From the street, this Coburg home retains its traditional weatherboard character. Behind the original frontage, there’s a major renovation taking shape.

With extensive timber framing, new wall and ceiling linings, and external cladding works, there’s plenty happening throughout the property.

Bell Plaster & Building Supplies has supplied MGP10 structural timber, LVL beams, Baltic primed weatherboards and KNAUF AUSTRALIA SHEETROCK plasterboard for the internal lining works.

We’ve also supplied Corinthian Doors DECO internal doors, ceiling systems, fixings and other materials for the internal fit-out.

We’ve added the Polytec Architectural Internal Door range to our architectural offering at Bell Plaster.

These are solid 35mm internal doors available in Polytec Woodmatt timber finishes and solid Matt colours, giving designers, builders and contractors the option to coordinate the door with surrounding joinery, wall finishes and the broader interior palette.

The range is suited to commercial fitouts, apartments and residential projects where the door finish forms part of the overall design rather than being treated as a separate element.

A good example of how the door can sit within a more detailed commercial interior. The timber finish, black frame, hardware and glazed panel all work together as part of the same material scheme.

This image shows the door itself more clearly. A large timber finished surface, black frame and minimal detailing around it. Clean, simple and focused on the finish.

This is probably the strongest example of the range in context. The door finish coordinates closely with the surrounding joinery, so the whole space reads as one material scheme rather than a collection of unrelated finishes.

Long weekend heads up.

Our plasterboard’s getting a better view of the city than we are.

A full Saturday delivering a couple of loads into Melbourne’s C*D, with the packs heading up and the crew keeping things moving.

This Hickory Australia build will bring student accommodation above the historic Great Western Hotel, with new spaces opening onto the laneway below. Pretty good mix of old and new Melbourne. More people living here, heading out for a feed, getting to know the city.

And we get to supply some of what goes into it. Always good seeing our plasterboard leave the yard and turn up on a job like this.

Big thanks to our drivers and everyone on site who put in the Saturday hours.

Not your average school pool.

We visited to see their new Aquatic Centre, built for the students of one of Melbourne’s most respected schools.

Delivered by and designed by , this space has the kind of detail you usually expect in high end commercial architecture, not just a school facility.

Bell Plaster supplied most of the materials behind the build, including wood wool acoustic panels used throughout, Stratopanel on the ground floor, timber veneered wall panels, access panels, plasterboard and more.

The Troldtekt panels bring warmth, texture and acoustic control to a space filled with hard surfaces, water and movement. The Stratopanel adds a clean perforated finish, while the timber veneered wall panels give the interior that calm, premium architectural feel.

This is the part we love seeing in person: the materials behind the drawings, finally finished and being used every day.
