Maintaining your sprinkler system doesn’t have to be tricky. With some basic maintenance, you should be able to help keep the water flowing and your yard looking great.
At Port Irrigation, we suggest doing the following:
1. Examine each sprinkler head. Be sure to clean any cogs you may see, tighten any loose screws and replace any sprinkler heads that are broken or damaged.
2. Evaluate dry spots in your yard. Does the water spray need adjusting to help reach the dry spots? Do you need to potentially increase the coverage of your sprinkler system?
3. Know your plants. Being familiar with your types of plants and their water needs can allow you to fine-tune your sprinkler system for optimal coverage and potential water savings.

Here are some tips to keep you safe in this weather:

If you are travelling in an unfamiliar area, seek out and pay close attention to advice from locals.
If you’re on holiday, or even just making a day trip, take into account potential rises in water levels and plan your travel so you don’t become stranded. Take note of warning signs that tell of local dangers.
Realise that your best plan may be to avoid travel altogether and that sometimes your only option will be to wait it out.
