Up to 200,000 a day.

That is what this floor can produce in pre-cut webs.

Not a theoretical brochure figure. Not a machine rating. Up to 200,000 pre-cut webs produced on PT’s floor in a day.

Webs from 450mm to 3 metres in 150mm increments. Creeper chords manufactured to your pitch, up-cut and end detail, including square or double mitre. Blocks and nogs in bulk.

Graded. Cut. Banded. Production-ready.

And here is the point.

No individual frame and truss plant needs to carry capacity like that. That is precisely why it makes sense for the capacity to sit here instead of on your floor.

You are not investing in additional cutting capacity. You are not adding another shift or operator. And you are not carrying the cutting waste associated with producing those components in-house.

You order against the work you have actually won. Our floor becomes an extension of yours.

27 years of it has produced two things here. More than half a billion components. And a zero wood waste site, not as a target, as an outcome.

Want to understand where supplemented componentry could release capacity in your plant? Talk to the Programmed Timber team.

When a customer has trusted you since 2017, that speaks louder than any sales pitch.

Unique Truss relies on Programmed Timber for pre-cut webs in varying lengths to support its roof truss production, backed by fast quoting, responsive service and dependable delivery.

For us, that is what supply should look like:

The right component. The right length. Ready when production needs it.

Thank you to Leanne Venables and the team at Unique Truss for the kind words and continued trust.

144 pieces. One pallet. How much work happens before they reach your jig?

If you cut them in-house, there is timber to load, saw time to allocate, components to handle, waste to manage and labour tied up before assembly even starts.

Or the components can arrive pre-cut, bundled and ready to move into production.

The question is not simply what the timber costs. It is what the cutting costs.

Warwick Drysdale has modelled the point where those numbers cross.

Run your own figures through the Truss Component Model.

One builder stops. Every plant that supplied it feels it.

15,000 homes in one Sydney pipeline have been paused since August, and NSW recorded 1,522 construction insolvencies last financial year.

Swipe through. Then ask yourself whether you know your true cost per component.

We’ll run the model on your figures, under NDA.

The average timber-framed home in Australia stores about 7.65 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

Good number. The industry is right to talk about it.

But there’s a detail almost nobody says out loud.

The offcut stores carbon too.

Kilogram for kilogram, the piece that falls off the end of the stick holds exactly as much carbon as the piece that goes into the truss.

The tree didn’t know the difference. The carbon doesn’t either.

What separates them isn’t chemistry. It’s whether the timber ends up doing work.

The web holds a roof up for a century. The offcut doesn’t.

Carbon storage alone isn’t the achievement. The achievement is how much of the tree finishes its life inside a structure, doing the job it was grown for.

That comes down to length recovery, cutting strategy and how much timber leaves the plant as component rather than as waste.

We’ve operated a zero-wood waste site for 27 years because we treat every part of the fibre as a resource.

Grown once. Cut for purpose. Used properly.

Two saws. One number you need to know.

Most plants have a saw quietly costing more than it makes. Swipe to see where the break-even line sits, then run the model on your own figures.

There is a version of survival that can look a lot like strategy.

More volume. Cheaper timber. Keep the plant busy and worry about margin later.

But buying cheaper is not the same as costing less.

Timber price is only one part of the cost of producing a truss. Operator hours, saw time, handling, waste and the capital tied up on your floor all matter.

The Truss Component Analysis puts numbers against those inputs to show what in-house cutting is actually costing your plant.

A cheaper stick may reduce the purchase price. It does not necessarily fix the cost structure behind production.

One changes what goes in.
The other changes the cost of what comes out.

Want to see where the difference sits in your plant?

We’ll run the model using your figures, with an NDA in place before anything is shared.

If your business is not going well right now, what are you actually going to change?

Plenty of plants doing it tough are not short of work. They are short of margin on the work they already have.

Some of that margin is in your cutting. Every web, creeper chord, nog and block cut on your floor carries an operator, a shift, a running cost, and infeed that ends up as waste you pay to remove. It never shows as a line item, which is why it has survived every cost review you have done.

Plants that supplement keep cutting their core requirements on the equipment they already own, and let the smaller components arrive production ready. Same output. Less spent getting there.

27 years of pre-cut componentry, and every plant that made the change has come out ahead.

One change. No capital.
