In May 1961, the Sydney Cove Building (the AMP building) was under construction and stood at its full structural height of 117m. We’ve read this was Australia’s first Skyscraper and the first structure to go above Sydney’s previous 46m height limit which had been in place since 1912.
In 1961 Sydney’s landscape was changing! New office towers needed ceiling solutions. So, on 12th May 1961, Armstrong Ceilings entered the Australian market.
We’re super proud to celebrate out our 65th anniversary by sharing a photo of our ceilings installed at Sydney’s tallest office tower, Salesforce Tower.
To our team both past and present, the skilled tradespeople who have installed our ceilings in the past and those who install our wall & ceiling products today, and to the wider A&D community:
🙏 THANK YOU for 65 incredible years.
