Up for sale is a HERITAGE SAWS Custom CARLTON model DOVETAIL SAW.

This one has a truly unique silky smooth TASMANIAN MYRTLE handle and is a fine 15pi rip profile for most timbers.

The plate depth is 44mm below the spine tapering to 40mm for accurate & precise dovetails, plate length is 255mm & the saw is 375mm overall long, filed 15ppi rip with 5° of rake.

The tapering spine gives the Carlton saw a stance like a French Riviera speedboat, looking fast while standing still.

The lovely Tasmanian Myrtle for this handle was supplied by our good friend , thanks Greg!

Our dovetail saw blades are American 1075 spring steel 0.5mm thick & the brass backs are 3mm thick cartridge brass.

SOLD! A Heritage Saws RICHMOND model 18” TENON saw in an 8ppi rip toothing with 5° of rake, good for large tenons. A silky smooth BEEFWOOD handle on this one, fashioned by our Ben .cromer .

A dense & waxy timber to work, Beefwood has a janka hardness rating of around 10,770n, compared to American Walnuts janka hardness of 4,490n

AVAILABLE NOW & UNIQUE! A Heritage Saws FITZROY model DOVETAIL saw in a 14ppi rip toothing with 5° of rake, good for dovetailing. A crazy scarred OTWAYS MYRTLE handle on this one, and configured in a LEFT HAND spine stamping & bolt pattern.

Out of the myriad of solar systems and galaxies, ours is the only planet where wood is found. Diamonds and gold are much more abundant throughout the universe than wood. Wood is precious and to be celebrated and treasured, and this scarred Myrtle is one of a kind. The scars were invisible until the handle was cut out of the board. The tree carried its scars inside.

What a fantastic weekend at the at Hanging Rock!
Thank you everyone who came over to our stall to chat & who showed interest in our hand made saws & a big THANK YOU to those of you who took one home with you.
It’s a privilege to attend the Lost Trades Fair & our creative batteries are recharged after being around such talented and inspiring artisans.
A big thank you to Glen and Lisa for organising such an incredible event at Hanging Rock & thanks for including our wee micro business!
