Estive no Urban Tree Biodiversity

I attended Urban Tree Biodiversity!
A few days ago, I visited the beautiful, tree-filled city of Medellín, Colombia. The city’s green corridors are a sight to behold!
During conversations with city officials, they explained how some public utilities are managed, including water collection and distribution, sewage collection and treatment, and gas supply. A municipally owned company manages all of these services. So, what does this have to do with urban greenery? Simple: the company invests heavily in maintaining green spaces. They have money in the bank!!!!!
So, does privatization really make things better? There’s a good debate to be had.
To wrap things up, I gave a talk at the event about PlaNAU—Brazil’s National Urban Forestry Plan. A framework developed by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA), with contributions from me and many other professionals.
