When we salvage a house set for demolition, we love to make sure that we try and save as much as possible from the landfill, so today was the backyard!
We have been brought in on the large project of six houses set to come down in Ramsey and now that asbestos is being removed inside, we have moved outside.
Between two of the houses was a beautiful cedar fence in great shape, so we removed it today and delivered it to its new home!
It was a beautiful day for salvaging and delivering a new fence to a very excited homeowner 😊

We wrapped up our first commercial project in January and it was a fun one! Salvaging a pub/restaurant had some unique differences than our normal house projects, but we were able to save a bunch of different items that we don't normally come across!

Some of those items were all the upholstered benches, bar stools and chairs, glasses, keg taps, tables and bases, speakers, some antiques and even multiple kitchen sinks! 😆

We did a few loads to metal recycling and a few loads to donation also. One of our favorite parts was being able to donate a few of the professional speakers to our son's school band program 😊

We have had a busy 2025 with some really exciting projects! We recently had the opportunity to salvage a historic home in Calgary that is part of a multi home project, continuing into 2026. We also just started our first commercial salvage project, a pub, which has had some very unique differences from our usual house salvages! We are looking forward to sharing more details and photos from these projects with you all soon.
We want to thank all the builders, homeowners, designers and developers for bringing us in on their projects this year and all of our customers! Having you all believe in our mission to keep as many usable items out of the landfill is what helps us keep doing what we do!

We really love saving windows and doors from homes that are being demolished, but do you know what we really dislike??
Stucco siding! Specifically, removing windows and doors from homes with stucco!! This doesn't mean we won't, it's just not our favorite 😆
If anyone knows any tips or tricks for getting them out easier, please let us know! This door was a fighter!

Thanks to some lovely homeowners, we were able to come in and save this solid maple built-in!
I'm not sure if it will stay the same, maybe just a few tweaks to update it, maybe a new stain or paint, or maybe it will become something completely different!
That's the fun of salavged items and materials. Nothing has to stay the same in its next life!
