A quick grind and grade followed by new 5/8” top, then final grade, lots of compaction and a bit of raking restored the driveway to its original condition and created a clean, welcoming appearance.

This driveway presented another challenging rebuild after sustaining significant damage over the past year due to sporadic heavy downpours. A considerable amount of the existing aggregate had to be reworked in order to re-establish the proper crown, which is essential for directing water away from the driving surface and preventing future erosion. After grading was complete, a new layer of 5/8" crushed gravel was applied to improve overall function and help to extend the overall service life of the driveway.

The customer’s driveway was in extremely poor condition and had become nearly impassable for any vehicle. The center of the driveway was approximately 15” lower than the surrounding sod line, which caused severe drainage issues.

To restore the driveway, we first regraded the existing material by pulling excess material from the edges back toward the center in order to re-establish proper shape. Once the base profile was reformed, we re-established the side shoulders and incorporated functional ditching to improve water runoff.

New aggregate base was then installed using 3” minus, followed by a light application of 5/8” crushed gravel. These improvements resulted in a stable, properly drained, and fully drivable driveway.
