Very honoured to receive the Marine Industry Award at the 2026 Canadian Safe Boating Awards (CASBAs) in recognition of having our GLORing being certified by Transport Canada and the US Coast Guard.
The event was held at the National Yacht Club in Toronto and consisted of an evening surrounded by an amazing group of people who are as likemindedly passionate about marine safety.
I'd like to congratulate my fellow award winners in the other categories.

March 27 of 2014.
That's the date I wrote my first email to Transport Canada inquiring about the requirements regarding making a life ring glow in the dark.

Like many good ideas, it got shelved and tinkered with over the years while other things took priority.

On Tuesday however, our Glo Ring became the world's first ever glow in the dark life ring to carry the United Labs (UL) mark and label.

This allows us to say that we are now US Coast Guard approved for our 24 inch and 30 inch rings.

This certification was a rigorous 18 month process conducted between UL Labs in North Carolina and our manufacturing facility in New Brunswick with dozens of tests being conducted (two of which I've added here).

This is another hurdle crossed in our mission to make our life rings the global standard for safety at sea.
