Meet the next team member in our Meet the Team series: Ryan!
Position: Customer Service Desk Clerk
Department: Customer Service Desk
For the past year and a half, Ryan has been part of the Dawson Co-op Home & Agro Centre team, where you'll most often find him at the Customer Service Desk. With decades of experience in customer service behind him, Ryan enjoys working with people and helping find solutions when problems arise.
For Ryan, the people are easily his favourite part of the job.
"I like when I'm able to help someone solve a problem."
Ryan brings plenty of experience to his role, with 25 years in retail customer service and 15 years in retail management. Since joining the Home & Agro Centre, he's been putting that experience to work while continuing to build his product knowledge.
With such a wide variety of products throughout the store, Ryan says there's always something new to learn.
"I know a little bit about everything. There are definitely things I'd like to specialize in, but there's so much to learn in the Centre."
One area Ryan thinks customers should take a closer look at is the Flooring Department.
"We have such a great selection, and the Flooring Department is just amazing!"
When customers are tackling a home improvement project, Ryan encourages them to be prepared for the unexpected.
"Expect there to be more issues than you initially think. There's usually more underneath, so don't expect what you see to be the only problem."
When it comes to his own projects, Ryan is a DIYer and isn't afraid to tackle things himself.
One product he's particularly excited about right now is PHLiPBiT. With different options on each bit, multiple lengths available, and the ability to fit into virtually any drill, Ryan likes the versatility and convenience it offers for different projects.
Outside of work, music is a big part of Ryan's life. He enjoys playing guitar, singing, reading, and spending time with his family. He also enjoys attending the car show with his family, turning the outing into a full family event whenever they get the chance.
