When you know, you know. 🤍

Window coverings are often one of the last details to go into a space — and yet, they can be the very thing that makes it feel finished.

Privacy, light control, warmth, softness, or simply that perfect finishing touch… every family has different needs, and every space has its own personality.

From quiet sheers that filter the light to layered drapery that brings warmth, or a tailored Roman shade that adds just the right amount of pattern — the options are as individual as the people who live with them.

Because great design isn’t just about how a room looks. It’s about how it feels to live in it.

And sometimes, it’s that final layer that makes you walk in and think… yes, this is it.

🍂 Feeling grateful for the beauty this land gives us — the stunning autumn colours, the generations who came before us, and the traditions that bring us together.

May we make room for learning, honour Indigenous voices and histories, and care for the land we call home.

And then there’s the snow… ❄️ Because apparently autumn wanted one last colour palette, and winter decided to join the conversation! 🤍

Holding gratitude, reflection, and a little wonder this holiday weekend. 🍁

A little piece of Rainbow history. 🐝

Cheryl Meiklejohn, our Queen Bee, owned Rainbow Draperies for 27 years, shaping the business we’re proud to carry forward today.

This cushion was designed by Cheryl and features a discontinued Kate Spade Collection tape. A reminder that great design — and the people behind it — leave a lasting impression.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the traditions we inherit and the creativity we carry forward.

Happy Thanksgiving from Kim & Ashaley! 💛

🌿 DRAPES IN THE WILD | Rainbow MADE

💙 Blue on blue, and all kinds of moody.

There’s something so wonderful about sheers that don’t just soften a space, but become part of the design itself. These blue sheers against a blue wall create depth, texture, and that dreamy, layered look we love seeing out in the wild.

The fabric is where the manufacturing conversation begins.

Material selection isn’t just about colour and pattern—it directly impacts how a piece will be cut, sewn, lined, pleated, weighted, finished and ultimately perform in the space.

A beautiful fabric can require very different construction than another fabric with a similar look. Weight, width, pattern scale, drape, stability and even the way it responds to pressing all matter.

This is why material selection and manufacturing go hand in hand. At Rainbow, we’re looking at the finished product from the very beginning—because the right fabric choices help us build something that not only looks beautiful, but is made to work.

Good design considers the fabric. Great manufacturing does too.

Softness that changes the whole room. 🤍

There’s something about sheers in a dining nook—they filter the daylight, soften the view and create the most beautiful sense of light, ambience and quiet elegance.

Not every window needs to make a statement. Sometimes, the magic is in what the fabric does with the light.

There’s something really special about the hands-on side of what we do. 🤍

Behind every finished drapery is a person—measuring, cutting, sewing, pressing, pleating, installing, adjusting, and sometimes standing on a very tall ladder! 😅

This is the part of custom work we love most: the people, the process, and the hands that bring the design to life.

Made locally. Made by hand. MADE by Rainbow. 🌈
