“Resale value alone doesn’t determine ownership cost.” Sunward is a relatively new brand to Canada and we recognize it will take some time for the resale value of our machines to increase. Even if we assume a 5 year old Sunward will be only half of the value of major name brands at that time, its a winner.

Most contractors only talk about resale %, brand prestige, and auction value. At KentStruction Equipment, we are reframing the conversation into total ownership cost.

After careful consideration, we have decided not to attend CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas this March. Recent statements and actions by U.S. leadership conflict with the values we believe are essential to ethical, cooperative international business. KentStruction Equipment Supply is a proud Canadian company built on integrity, fairness, and respect.

As Canadians, we believe leadership means speaking up. In his recent address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Mark Carney reminded us that remaining silent or compliant in the face of what is clearly wrong is not an option.

We agree.

Donald Trump's speech today further solidified our decision. Canada does not exist solely because of the USA. This was not an easy decision. CONEXPO is a major industry event, we value our North American partners and looked forward to meeting with our Canadian customers in Vegas. However, standing by our principles matters more.

We remain fully committed to our customers, our partners, and strengthening Canadian business.
