Community Contest Spotlight: IWK Foundation - Nova Scotia💚

Built by the community for the community, the IWK provides advanced and specialized care to Maritime women, children, and youth across the Maritime provinces. The IWK is the largest pediatric hospital and trauma centre in Atlantic Canada.

Thanks to generous donor support, world-class care is available at the IWK for patients and families when they need it most.
- It was there for Johnny, who spent over 100 days in the IWK's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) fighting a life-threatening infection.
- It was there for Ava, whose spinal surgery at the IWK's Orthopedic clinic gave her back the ability to play hockey pain-free.
- It was there for Henry, who was airlifted to the IWK for lifesaving care when he went into respiratory failure.

The IWK continues to be there for them and countless others. At the IWK in 2024-2025, there were:
47,200 emergency department visits from children and youth across the Maritimes.
4,549 infants born.
320,036 outpatient clinic visits.

Community Contest Spotlight: Hope For Wildlife - Nova Scotia 💚

Hope for Wildlife is a charitable wildlife rehabilitation and education organization located in Seaforth, Nova Scotia. Since 1997, they have rescued, rehabilitated, and released over 95,000 injured and orphaned wild animals representing over 300 species.

In addition to the ongoing care they provide, Hope for Wildlife aims to connect people to wildlife in a positive way through knowledge and understanding, believing that education through rehabilitation is the key to a sustainable future. Every year, they respond to over 40,000 calls, texts and emails from all over Nova Scotia.

They welcome thousands of visitors to their facilities for tours, they give hundreds of off-site educational presentations to community and school groups, and they collect a wide range of data from animals treated at their rehabilitation centre.

Sweet moments at the store, we celebrated Gudi Padwa and Vaisakhi with an array of delicious Indian sweets!🍬
Gudi Padwa is a spring festival marking the start of the lunisolar new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus. Vaisakhi, also known as Baisakhi, is a spring harvest celebration primarily in Punjab and northern India.
It was a joy to share these festive treats and celebrate the rich cultural traditions that bring us together.
