Over 45,000 sq. ft. of ZinCo Green Roof Systems now spans this incredible mixed-use community, bringing resilient rooftop landscapes to future residential and market rental spaces in the Distillery District.

Designed to support stormwater management, biodiversity, and long-term building performance, on all rooftops and courtyard levels these green roofs are heavily contributing to the sustainability of the project.

It’s been incredible watching this project come to life and even better seeing the green roofs fully installed and thriving. 🌱💚

Completed in 2023, the 31-storey B6 Office Tower stands as a defining feature of Vancouver’s skyline and is home to the tallest sloped green roof in Canada!

Built using our Georaster Sloped Roof System in combination with engineered wind-uplift restraints, this one-of-a-kind installation pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in green roof design. From slope stability to long-term performance, every detail was driven by innovation and collaboration.

A huge thank you to our partners Holland Landscapers and Motus Consult who helped bring this vision to life. This project is a true testament to what’s achievable when expertise aligns.🤩

Since starting out in 2006, we’ve grown a lot… and learned a few tough lessons along the way 😅

From some questionable car wraps to finally figuring out warehouse organization, it’s safe to say we’ve come a long way.

From “wait… plants go on the roof?” to “we need this on every building,” it’s been two decades of growing greener cities, one rooftop at a time.

Along the way, our team has grown too, both in numbers and expertise, turning challenges into experience and ideas into thriving rooftops 🌿

20 years later, we’re still growing, just with a bit more experience, a lot more plants, and slightly better design choices 😉

We had a fantastic Thursday touring ZinCo green roofs with the team last week!

Down in the West Don Lands, we explored a wide range of systems, from extensive green roofs to fully usable rooftop amenity spaces and urban agriculture.👩‍🌾

It was a great opportunity to showcase the versatility of ZinCo systems and how they can be tailored to meet a variety of project goals.

One of the biggest takeaways? The critical role of structural soil in supporting long-term performance and plant health! 🌱

There’s something special about projects that feel like they truly belong to their surroundings🏔️

We had the opportunity to collaborate with Alair Homes on this stunning Nordic-inspired residence, featuring a sloped green roof that blends seamlessly into the landscape. Simple, clean, and incredibly intentional in its design. We even had a few deer stop by to inspect the system 🦌🌿.. safe to say it passed the test.

Projects like this highlight the strength of our custom design capabilities. We love working alongside partners to adapt, collaborate, and develop tailored solutions that deliver on both architectural vision and long-term performance.
