Last week our team attended the Canadian Concrete Expo. As a passionate group committed to creating real change, we pride ourselves on the impact we can make, and this event was a great opportunity to soak up new knowledge and perspective.

We also had the pleasure of sitting in on the Prefab Precast Concrete Can Help Alleviate the Housing Crisis conference session presented by Malcom Hachborn.

Knowing that the work we do each day contributes to meaningful change in the housing crisis we face today is an honor. Thank you to all the incredible companies and people who came together to educate, inspire, and push our industry forward.

On Friday we were honoured to host Kingston MP & Federal Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Gregor Robertson at Lodestar Structures/Anchor Concrete. We shared our vision to help end the housing crisis in Canada - and our goal to provide affordable, scalable, climate-resistant, and accessible housing to all. We shared some of our 55 + year history as a small, third generation, local business, and took a tour of our 3-storey build that was completed between 7:30AM and 4:30PM the same day. Thank you Mr. Gerretsen and Mr. Robertson for your visit, and we look forward to the potential of working with your Government to provide housing nationwide.

Adding a little bit more Christmas spirit in the mix here at Anchor! We’ve added a Christmas tree in the Plant, name tags for our valued and hardworking staff and of course - some Lodestar Structures 3D models to top it all off! Thank you so much to everyone who continues to donate to our holiday stocking fundraiser ❤️ a reminder that we are accepting monetary donations until end of day tomorrow, and physical items/holiday stockings & stocking stuffers until next Friday!
