How did I get here? 50 ! I've had this neck idea for awhile so being a milestone uke I thought I would give it a go, and I'm glad I did. I glued 5 skateboard together to give me the thickness I needed and cut a slab to work with keeping the end grain exposed on the back of the neck. You can still see the angle of the nose and tails where the headstock angles. So happy with the result, definitely won't be my last. For the body I took inspiration from Gerry Garcia's Tiger and Rosebud guitars. It's a solid body with a Wilkinson mini humbucker aluminum k***s and a four string adjustable roller bridge. The fretboard is maple skateboard wood with black epoxy markers and a matching end grain inlay on the 12th. It has nickle silver frets, a bone nut and up top Wilkinson ez lock tuners.
