WELCOME BACK!! I hope everyone had a great summer!
I would like to thank everyone who volunteered for the PDIC social events this past year. Without them, the club wouldn’t be where it is today!
Our summer bocce has ended for the season, and our BBQ in August was a great success! As we prepare for our indoor events and activities there are a few changes: Bingo will run once a month (Thursday afternoon) and there will also be changes in our Sunday schedule. Please see details below.
Please join us for the activities, with cards every Sunday starting on October 4th at 1 PM at Sacred Heart Church. Please stop in for a quick game, a visit or a coffee. We love to see everyone. Bring your kids or grandkids. There are games and activities for them to do as well.
Please note that the following Sunday Socials will start at 3 PM, not 1 PM, as the church has its Latin Mass and they will be using the Hall until 3 PM: October 25th, November 22nd, December 13th, January 24th, March 28th, April 25th and May 23rd.
Please note: The church will be NOT be available to us on Sunday Nov 29th, March 28th (Easter) and April 4th.
Bingo this year will be held every third Thursday of the month at Sacred Heart Church, and will run on the following dates: Thursday, Oct. 15th, Nov. 19th, Dec. 17th, Jan. 21st, Feb. 18th, March 11th, April 15th and May 20th. Come and enjoy a great time and maybe win some money!!!! Please invite your family and friends, bring your kids and grandkids. It is fun for everybody.
We are having our Christmas Shopping trip on Saturday, December 5th, 2026. Tickets are available through Vicki (416-578-7460), Deb (647-519-2269) or Germaine (705-768-1666). The tickets are $45 for members and $55 for non-members. We will be shopping at the following venues: Vaughan Mills Premiere Outlet Mall, Fortinos, The Seafood Depot, Grace Textile and Grande Cheese. The bus leaves from two pick up locations, Canadian Tire on Chemong Rd at 7:30 AM and Canadian Tire on Lansdowne at 8:00 AM. This is a great trip for Christmas shopping. Every great trip also includes a raffle and a 50/50 draw on the bus. Win your shopping money back!!!! Tickets can be paid by cash or via e-transfer to Paul Malandrino at: [email protected]
We will be having a potluck dinner on Sunday, December 13th at Sacred Heart Church. Come and share your favourite dish, maybe even swap recipes. This is always a great time and always great food. Dinner will be at 5:00 PM.
Membership dues and AGM:
Membership dues will remain the same for 2027: $40.00 for a single person or $75 for a family. Membership dues can be paid anytime in December or will be collected at the Annual General Membership meeting (AGM). Our AGM will be held on Sunday, January 10th, 2027 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church. Please plan to attend.
We will be hosting our annual Pasta Dinner following the 5:30 PM Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Date to be confirmed.
Please note that the PDIC Italian language course may be offered in the New Year based on interest. Please contact Deb Malandrino at 647-519-2269 if interested.
If anyone would like to volunteer at the cards and/or bingo, please let me know. Many hands make less work. Volunteering can be done when you are available, it doesn’t have to be every week. It is quite difficult for our executive to provide many options for the Club with limited help. If you would like to volunteer, please contact any of the following executive members: Joe (president), Deb, Paul, Martino, Germaine, John or Vicki.
