​He didn't sugarcoat it. Between permitting delays, municipal red tape, and infrastructure that hasn't kept up, local builders are getting bogged down when they should be growing.

​Port Alberni needs to be a place where businesses can actually get work done. Appreciate Ken sharing his time and giving it to me straight.

🔨 Our absolute favourite long time Al tells us he is retiring one day (ok five years ago) and legally we can’t stop him 😕 We also don’t know how we will replace him but he tells us to start the search.

So, we are looking for a unicorn.

Carpentry experience is ideal (Red Seal not required), but Al will teach everything you need to know with how we do it here.

Alongside building and repairing doors and jambs, customer service is a large part of this role. Helping people navigate home upgrades (biggest asset so can be stressful for them!), many have no experience with this so education with choices and patience is a must.

You will also work alongside construction companies with door packages for new builds, so budget and timelines are essential to abide by. We offer standard doors as well as European doors with multi point hinge systems and hardware.

The door shop itself is at Windsor, but you will go to homes for measure-ups and installation. Excellent etiquette and service is a must while on site.
