As a BC Green Business member, weโll undergo annual audits to assess and verify our environmental and sustainability practices and continue looking for ways to improve.
A few things that helped us achieve our GREEN certification:
๐ฒ Over 95% of our logs are sourced within 50 miles of our operations
๐ก 100% LED lighting throughout our operating buildings and offices
โป๏ธ All of our wood residuals are reused or sold โ including sawdust, mulch and sidecuts
๐งน Over 80% of our cleaning products are non-toxic and biodegradable
๐ Over 95% paper products used on site are made from recycled materials
๐ค We work with other local businesses to find ways to repurpose their waste in our operations or visa versa โ ex. reusing malt bags from Townsite Brewing for our firewood products.
For a small, locally owned forest products business, weโre pretty proud of what weโve accomplished.
Our goal has always been to make the most out of the local wood resource we have available, minimize waste wherever we can, and continually find better ways of doing things.
A big thank you to BC Green Business, our team and the local businesses and customers who help make it possible! ๐ฒโป๏ธ
