Sur un chantier, ce qu'on voit au sol après une coupe en dit long sur le risque qui s'en vient.

Branches tombées, bois mort, résidus de coupe : cette charge combustible reste là, sèche, et devient le carburant d'un feu qui n'a plus qu'à attendre l'étincelle.

Le broyage forestier change la donne. En déchiquetant cette charge, on enlève au feu ce qui le rend rapide et incontrôlable.

Pas spectaculaire à regarder. Mais sur le terrain, ça fait toute la différence.

On a jobsite, what you see on the ground after a cut tells you a lot about the risk that's coming.

Fallen branches, dead wood, untreated logging residue: this fuel load stays there, dries out, and becomes kindling for a fire that's just waiting for a spark.

Forestry mulching changes that. By shredding this load, we take away what makes a fire fast and uncontrollable.

Not spectacular to watch. But on the ground, it makes all the difference.
