All our workshops are sold out! 🎉

Huge thanks to the volunteers who upgraded the wood shop and designed and prepared next week’s sessions, and to everyone who’s stepped up to keep the library open. Special thanks to Trina, who is leading the reorganization.

And to our community: your trust and support over the past six months means a lot! It kept us going.

Thank you for the surge of interest in our workshops! The two bowl turning sessions and the Tuesday cutting board session sold out, but if you have two free Monday evenings, there are still some spots left to learn to make a charcuterie board.

In this two-part beginner-level class, you will learn woodworking basics by building your own charcuterie board. You will learn how to make proper cuts, square up your wood, glue and clamp it together, thickness plane it down, sand it smooth, and finally finish it! This two-hour class is taught betw

We're inviting you to our fall workshops! Learn to use the lathe, or the table saw, the jointer, planer or bandsaw during a fun evening at the Tool Library, and take home something you made.

No previous experience needed, we provide all the tools and materials, and guidance so you can work safely and efficiently.

The holiday workshop season is almost here! Our volunteers have been tidying up the shop. This morning we built two new workbenches to make room for our learners. The final coats are drying now. The 2026 fall-winter workshop schedule will be announced next week. Spots are limited, follow our page and turn on notifications to catch registration when it opens!

This is not yet the fall announcement. We know that the reduced hours have been inconvenient, but we ask for more of your patience. In the meantime, as our volunteer force is growing, we can now keep the library open Friday evenings too!

We're also accepting applications for the workshop, where $200 a month buys you your own key, and full access to our improved woodworking shop.

As many of you know, SJTL has begun to move toward a completely volunteer run organization. After 8 years of being able to maintain more full time staff, our realities are changing. We are operating on reduced hours for the next few months during this transition with more information available at www.sjtl.ca .
