This has been my process for setting up airlines for over 30 years. I make a point to coil up all of our cords and hoses starting with the female end (ladies first) so that the end getting plugged in first is always the end you handle first when setting up.
Tying off the male end when setting up allows you to put a little tension on the line while untwisting the coils. (no, I don’t use the “over/under” technique for lines over 50 feet)
I then drop the female end while stretched out, plug in the male end to pressurize the line, then “ spaghetti” the line into a pile somewhere out of the way. This means that when you grab and go, it won’t tangle at all.
Then make sure to clean out the female end before plugging in your tool to ensure you don’t pass unwanted grit through the seals and chambers. 👍

Don’t hate on it if you haven’t tried it..
I caught one of my employees doing this years ago and mocked him out immediately.. Only to be corrected when I finally tried it when I was alone and it actually worked..😂It’s now become a “go to” move when I’m just short of the needed reach.
If you need another 1”-2” inches of reach, it’ll make the difference.👌😁

This is how you “get a foot up” on yourself.🤣

Back in a B-max front worn stitched in place and loving it! This thing is “home” to me.

If you’ve ever used an aggressive blade in a reciprocating saw to cut plumbing then chances are good that you know how much damage they can do. 😬 And yeah, a metal blade is the better way to go being that it’s got fine teeth. However, sometime you gotta make do with what’s available.
Make less of a mess by installing the blade backwards and avoid the aggressive grab that makes a reciprocating saw cut so fast.
Still fast enough and nothing gets broken.

The small town podcast by Brad Riemer. Find it on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Some great discussions with surprising people from our little town of Summerland. Was honoured to be a part of this series.
FYI Brad is responsible for lots of the fun content, pranks and creativity you see on my page. If you enjoy his handy work on my page, then you’ll love the podcast. 👍

Framer 101 stud spread. This isn’t actually as easy as it looks. If you know you know..
It takes a decent amount of grip strength combined with good technique. Great method that you can improving on while you carefully find your safe limit. Adding a stud or two throughout the framing of a structure and see how many you can drop one at a time. 👊

I’ve always loved this little move. Nothing new or earth shattering, just making efficient use of what’s most readily available and getting the job done.
Goose neck bars and wedges are good options when the weight is too much but this simple technique gets er done most of the time.
FYI this was a garage wall being stood between 2 other stood sheeted walls onto anchor bolts. Hence the absent sheathing and cap plate that I installed after it was up. There’s also sill gasket under the plate which is all we’re required to use here, no need for P.T.

*And yes, I completely destroyed/damaged that poor top plate by smashing/gouging my hammer claws into it like an ignorant, disrespectful hack.. 🤣 bring on the hate keyboard carpenters.. 🫠
Wearing the biolift harness (which we now have for sale) during this stage of framing. Great assistant for your lower back on heavy days.
Running R1HBDmini and L-mini modular bags with a clip on phone pocket on a super belt threaded through the harness. 👌

I’m always most at home when wearing my B-max. To me, there’s no better rig for forming and framing.
Bash the front tape pocket all you want.. There’s simply no more efficient spot for your tape and no, it doesn’t bust my balls all day. It’s save me from injury far more than it’s hurt me.
However, if it’s not your jam/preference, I totally respect that. We offer many other layouts to suit the endless requests of our fellow trades people. And if you can’t find what suits you, we offer custom build spots so you can dial things in just the way you want. 👊
