Which ice melter is safe on concrete? It's the question we get asked most once the cold hits, and getting it wrong is expensive.
Deb on the short version:
β’ New concrete, under a year old, don't put anything on it. Sand for grip, shovel the rest.
β’ Plain rock salt is the cheapest and the hardest on concrete, plants and paws.
β’ Calcium chloride works colder and goes further, so you use less of it.
β’ Whatever you use, less is more. People put down ten times what they need, and the damage comes from the excess sitting there melting and refreezing.
Our Ice Melter works to -26Β°C and it's $10.97 right now, down from $22.49.
