Fun Fact Friday! 👀🏠🔨

Did you know? Before LATICRETE became a global brand, the Rothberg family made product samples right from their kitchen. 🤯

What started as Dr. Henry Rothberg's mission to find a better way to install tile led to the invention of one of the industry's first latex-modified thin-set systems and the founding of LATICRETE in 1956.

From kitchen experiments to setting the standard for 70 years, innovation has been part of our story from day one. 💙

Too scary 👻🎃💀

Sharon La Riviere, Senior Manager, Digital Marketing at LATICRETE North America, and Lesley Goddin, Editorial Director and Senior Writer at TileLetter, recently visited ceramic artist Rhoda Kahler Studio's award-winning Woven Earth installation at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere.

Inspired by African art, textiles, and tribal design, the project transformed the entrance to the African Village with a breathtaking 55-foot handmade tile mural and a 37-foot serpentine bench filled with vibrant textures and organic movement.

What makes it even more impressive? The installation looks just as stunning today as it did when it was first completed, a testament to the artistry, craftsmanship, and durability behind every detail. ✨

Built with precision, passion, and collaboration, the project utilized MULTIMAX™ Lite mortar, HYDRO BAN® waterproofing, PERMACOLOR® Select grout, LATASIL® sealant, and STONETECH® Quartz & Porcelain Tile Sealer.

👏 Special thanks to Dragonfly Tile & Stone Works Inc, Nichols Tile & Terrazzo Co. Inc., Rone Tile Stone LLC, and Bobby Mitchell for helping bring this incredible vision to life.

Art, culture and community come together in the award-winning Watsonville Brillante public mosaic project in Watsonville, California. 🎨

Led by local artist and educator Kathleen Crocetti, with installation support from Rinaldi Tile & Marble, the six-story mural transforms the Civic Plaza Parking Garage with 185 mosaic panels celebrating more than 90 cultures and every Mexican state. Its powerful vertical murals honor stories of labor, resilience and identity.

Recognized with the 2025 Coverings CID Award for Artistic Design and the NTCA Five-Star Community Impact Award, this extraordinary project required a system built for long-term exterior performance and seismic stability.

A full LATICRETE® warranted system was specified, including:

✔️ HYDRO BAN®
✔️ NXT® Patch
✔️ 253 Gold™
✔️ PERMACOLOR® Select
✔️ STONETECH® Heavy Duty Exterior Sealer

“Everyone has been proud to be a part of this,” shared Bernadette Anderson, LATICRETE NorCal Regional Sales Manager. “It’s such an honor to help represent a community through art.”

More than a transformation of a parking garage, Watsonville Brillante is a lasting celebration of the city’s people, history and spirit.

Fun Fact Friday! 👀

Long before cell phones, the Rothbergs put their home phone number on business cards to show customers they were always available. Now that’s commitment to service. 📞✅
