While I primarily create artisanal instruments for writing (fountain, rollerball and ballpoint pens and various mechanical pencils), and shaving (brushes and razors), I occasionally make various other hand tools for crafts and kitchens. As with pens and shavewares, I employ both rare and unusual hardwoods, both domestic and tropical. I take custom orders and also show these wares at craft and art sales I attend.
Today I am showing you a seam ripper, an essential tool in sewing baskets. These come with a variety of attachments, for example differently-sized seam rippers, stilettos, mini-scissors and needle threaders. These instruments can be created for a single tool with a pocket clip on the other end, or as a pair of tools, as illustrated in the accompanying photographs. The photos feature a large and small seam ripper and an elegant curly white ash handle.
Please contact me if you are interested in custom-made seam rippers, or other craft and kitchen tools.
