Installation
Lightweight and easy to install, RMD false ceilings redefine the heights
of durability and design.
Featuring excellent properties such as waterproof, termite proof,
corrosion proof, sound absorption and thermal insulation, this product
offers the complete package in our three distinct design categories -
Imperial, Majestic and Classic.
With a hollow board base supporting the decorative finish, these tiles
are engineered with high resistance to temperature and humidity, and
improved electrical insulation as well as strength in mind – to support
the inevitable electrical fittings usually required in false ceilings.
With RMD False Ceiling Tiles – available in both, fire-retardant
and non-fire-retardant versions – the future is looking up.

RMD WALL PANELS
RMD Boards can be easily installed on any flat
surface quickly (10 to 15 minutes for 2440 x 1220 mm sheet) by using
recommended adhesive and trained installation team.
Please refer to the Installation Manual for RMD wall panels.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
• Walls should be free from structural defects, smooth, sound,
permanently dry and free from laitance, dust, surface treatments
or contamination which would impair and affect proper bonding.
• When applying RMD Boards onto concrete structures make sure
that no curing compounds are used (e.g. wax or paraffin) which
could cause de-bonding.
• Brick-walls and all uneven substrates should be plastered or
rendered in accordance with country specific standards to assure
perfect bonding on a smooth substrate with sufficient evenness.
PREPARATION OF WALL
SURFACE
• Prepare wall first for paneling.
Scrape the wall with proper tool.
Please remove paint from the wall, if any.
• Take the exact measurement of the wall with measuring tape, where RMD Board is to be installed.
APPLICATION OF ADHESIVE
• Cut the RMD Boards to suit the required size of the wall before applying glue.
• Before starting the installation process of RMD Boards, make sure that they are clean on the backside and ensure that the substrate is ready for covering.
• Spread the glue with a suitable notched trowel (such as A3 to B3,
depending on the substrate condition)
• It is recommended to apply a fine layer of adhesive on the backside of the
RMD Boards and recommended adhesive directly onto the substrate.
• Ensure that the backside of the RMD Board is thoroughly wetted with
adhesive to ensure perfect full surface bonding and to avoid any hollow
spots.
• Always ensure that the adhesive is not yet cured before pressing the RMD
Boards onto the substrate.
• First of all, find out the square footage of the ceiling required.
This measurement will help you to determine the number of tiles and grid
work required. Please procure 20% more material than required. The extra
material will be useful for repair in the later years.
• Now, install the frame for the suspension grid work.
• This entails determining the height for the new ceiling and connecting the
frame to the surrounding walls.
• Make sure the alignment of the frame is proper to fix the screw and
frame in one place. Continue this process until the frame is all around the
boundary of the room.
• Start installation of RMD False Ceiling.
• Start with the center section and work towards the outer side.
• Please use recommended clips to hold RMD False Ceiling in place.
MOUNTING RMD WALL PANELS /
WALL COVERINGS
• Now lift the RMD Boards carefully and put the same on the wall and press the board firmly onto the substrate.
• For mounting 2 Boards side-by-side a gap of 3-4mm can be kept and filled by using suitable spacer profiles, colour sealant or by using decorative profiles. Alternatively two sheets can be flushed.
APPLICATION OF PRESSURE
• Apply even pressure with the help of pressure roller on the RMD Board surface to remove the air trapped and ensure perfect bonding.
• Prepare the borders of the wall panel and wall using masking tape. Apply sealant gently in the space between the tapes, which will serve as a frame for the RMD Board on the wall.
FINISHING
• Remove the masking tape from the RMD Boards once sealant is cured.
Hold the freshly fixed Boards into place and allow the adhesive to cure for
at least 24 hours before exposing to any mechanical stress.
• Remove surface protection film after all other activities and cleaning of
application area is completed. Termite proof, long lasting wall in your
favorite design is now ready.
