[MADE WITH SAINT-GOBAIN] The original design (1970) by René Stapels and Pierre Dufau combined Corten steel and glass in an eclectic architectural style. Formerly the headquarters of an insurance company that employed 1,000 people, the building has now been transformed into a dynamic mixed-use space.

The modernization work has brought the building up to current comfort standards while preserving its original character. This seamless blend of historical design and modern innovation showcases the building’s renewed purpose and enduring legacy.

[INSPIRATION] The Chand Baori is a huge stepwell situated in Abhaneri, Rajasthan, India. Built in the 8th and 9th centuries, it descends to a depth of 30 metres over 13 levels and features 3,500 steps arranged in a perfect geometric labyrinth.

This masterpiece of ancient architecture was designed to collect rainwater and thus cope with the arid conditions of north-western India. Its perfectly symmetrical layout allows large numbers of people to use the stepwell at the same time.

Fun fact: these 3,500 symmetrically arranged steps inspired the prison set in the film "The Dark Knight Rises" (Christopher Nolan, 2012).
