Triple glazed sliding doors bring contemporary light and openness to this Georgian villa in Edinburgh.

The new kitchen and living extension features two minimal windows® 4+ sliding door systems positioned on opposite elevations, creating a dual aspect and direct access to the stone terrace and gardens.

One system meets a fixed minimal windows® return through a 90° glass to glass silicone jointed corner, extending the glazed elevation with minimal visual interruption.

Finished in RAL 7021 Black Grey, the slim framing and precise corner detailing give the extension a light, refined appearance while providing the enhanced performance required for its Scottish setting.

A contemporary garden room designed to reconnect a historic Edinburgh home with its landscape.

At Rev W.B. Stevenson’s House in Edinburgh, three minimal windows® sliding door systems were integrated within a modern timber and glass extension, creating a light filled kitchen and family space with panoramic views of the property's mature gardens and woodland.

Two of the glazing arrangements incorporate glass-to-glass corner connections, allowing the glazed walls to wrap around the extension with minimal visual interruption. A third three-track sliding system spans almost 6.8 metres wide, creating a generous opening between the interior and the garden.

The result is a contemporary intervention that contrasts beautifully with the original 1902 Queen Anne house, bringing natural light deep into the home while strengthening its connection to the surrounding landscape.

A room defined by glass, light and openness.

At The Lea in Worcestershire, minimal windows® sliding doors create a dramatic opening from the kitchen and dining space, framing views of the terrace and surrounding landscape while flooding the extension with natural light.

The scale of the glazing allows the architecture to feel remarkably open, with large sliding panels creating a seamless transition between inside and out and strengthening the connection to the property's rural setting.

Part of a wider three sided glazing arrangement, this impressive installation demonstrates how large-format sliding doors can transform the experience of a space while maintaining clean architectural lines and minimal sightlines.

The architectural impact of an open corner.

At Edinburgh City House, two minimal windows® sliding door systems were combined in a bi-parting open corner configuration, allowing the contemporary extension to open from two adjoining sides. The result is a seamless connection between the living space, patio and garden beyond.

When closed, the large glass panels maintain clear views and bring natural light deep into the extension. When open, the sliding panels draw away from the corner, removing the visual barrier between inside and out and creating a broad, uninterrupted opening.

Combining large format glazing, slim aluminium framing and flush threshold detailing, this Edinburgh project demonstrates the architectural impact of a well executed open corner design.
