GAS WORKS IN BLACKPOOL – PLEASE CHECK YOUR BONDING

As many people will be aware, a lot of gas-main replacement work is currently being carried out around Blackpool. In some homes, the gas meters are also being moved outside.

We’ve recently visited several properties where the green-and-yellow electrical bonding cable hasn’t been reconnected after the work. Where bonding is required, leaving it disconnected could make the electrical installation potentially unsafe.

Please check around your gas meter after any gas work. If the bonding cable or clamp has been left disconnected, contact the gas contractor and ask them to return, or call Rapid Electrical and we can check it for you.

Suppose it not good practice to pull a cable in a cavity, however when your trained old school by electricians who I truly admire now, back then I would have never said anything good about them. Age makes you understand that being trained is something that you sometimes don’t know yourself you are learning. 35 years later I’m saving a customer to not having his newly decorated wall chopped out.
