A happy customer! We have been supporting Foodbanks for about a decade with discounted goods. When Foodbanks began to increase around the country we could no longer offer free products, overruns etc as per their requests as there were simply too many of them. We therefore decided to offer Foodbanks discounts of which were greatly appreciated - we have quite simply saved Foodbanks collectively many, many £1000s each year since. It's great to see so many Foodbanks around the country supporting those in need, the sad matter however is that Foodbanks need to exist in the first place. The rising number and demand for Foodbanks is evidence that issues are getting worse, not better. Keep up the great work Foodbanks - don't forget to speak to us if you need our assistance!! https://www.plastor.co.uk/industry/food-banks/
There have been some improvements in the warehouse which reduce the amount of heavy lifting for our hardworking volunteers.
Thanks to foodbank volunteers Paul and Jo Richards' successful quiz night at Langney Sports, we have been able to purchase roll on roll off weighing scales and ten crate trollies.
Mark, warehouse manager, pictured here with Jo Richards who helped organise the quiz, said: "These trollies and the scales have made a huge difference to the running of the warehouse.
"Food comes in and goes straight on the scales, which has helped to speed up the process.
"It is a brilliant addition and it is safer for the volunteers because it means there is less lifting."
Jo not only helped raise the money for the scales and trollies, but also helped source the items too. Jo contacted Plastor Ltd. to get what was needed.
Jo volunteers in the warehouse and said: "The difference it has made to the workings of the warehouse is tremendous."
