Our cove allowed the guys to capture free-moving camera angles from a huge range of angles, including from underneath, while still keeping the green screen behind them.

A new black-out addition to our own studios in Bristol.. Qu Studios

DARKNESS FALLS OVER QU STUDIOS...

Since opening the new Studio One (white cove) in April, 2019, we've had many enquiries asking if the space can be a black-out studio. We could do parts of the cove, but not the whole thing...
..But you asked and, as always, we listened... We've spent the time and money to add a full cove black curtain and rail system to allow Studio One to quickly and easily be transformed from a white infinity cove to a totally blacked out space with curtains, carpet and ceiling tiles. We can even add the four 8x4 Poly boards to create more black walls and box the area in.

Take a look around the 360˚ image here to get an idea of the new space... It's 6m wide and 4m deep... Big enough to accommodate a decent sized shoot for film, photography or live streaming!

The new black-out set comes at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU! With Studio One hire starting from just £295 for a 4hr half day, we're far more affordable than you might think! Yes, we've done all the work to make our studios even more dynamic and appealing to our clients because we love what we do! *AN IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS SERVICE UPDATE*

*November 1st, 2020*

Like many of us, Qu Studios has watched closely Saturday’s announcement from Prime Minister, Boris Johnson regarding the new month-long lock-down for the UK, scheduled to come into force on Thursday November 5th until the start of December. This announcement forces the closure of pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops along with other hospitality venues. So far as we can reasonably determine, Qu Studios as a business falls outside of this legislation and within the realm of trades that cannot easily work from home to perform our jobs. As such, Qu Studios is able to remain open at this time.

Qu Studios has been tireless in its Coronavirus response since re-opening after the first lockdown and has maintained extremely rigorous cleaning regimes to protect our clients and ourselves. These have included traditional chemical cleaning as well as UV-C lighting to sanitise in the same way hospitals do. We clean all bathrooms and bannister rails right from the front door down into the studios before each booking. We feel it is safe for us to continue to serve our customers provided our strict COVID-19 rules are followed closely. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss these.

We’ve taken these decisions as we know of no direct contact with any confirmed cases of anyone associated with the business, our clients or the wider premises Qu Studios is based in.

Shoots that take place will be expected to observe strict 2 meter social distancing at all times, to wash your hands every time you enter and re-enter the building and to use the hand sanitiser provided regularly. Anyone not appearing in front of a camera will be obliged to wear a mask (which we can provide) whilst in the studios and wider building.

The efforts to overhaul the studios and get everything ready for clients to return is very well underway with something exiting coming in the next week or so to make life much easier for potential new clients!

In the meantime, Mathew has been working hard all day to produce this beautiful new set of scale-accurate floor plans of our whole facility... This will help people gauge Social Distancing possibilities through-out the facilities as well as simply showing how dynamic our layout is here...
