W H Mogford & Son was established in the early 1840s by the Mogford family as a local ironmongery business. The range of goods was also increased with the inclusion of pet supplies. In October 2004 John Wiltshire (a descendant of the original Mogford family) retired and sold the business to Paul Gillam, an employee since 1995 and Assistant Manager. Paul has continued running the shop, keeping the
W H Mogford & Son name and preventing the prospect of closure. Paul has achieved this by making small changes here and there but mostly keeping the shop in its traditional roots. It is amazing how many customers reminisce when they visit the shop recounting memories of coming in with Parents or Grandparents when they were children. Paul who was born in Bristol and worked in other shops in Westbury village, prior to his employment at W H Mogford & Son, knows the area and what works well in the shop. Although the Mogford family no longer run and own the business, John made a good decision in selling the business to Paul and therefore keeping the Mogford reputation as a traditional ironmonger going. Paul and his staff take great pride in their customer service and the friendly team are always on hand to answer questions or queries as well as offering professional and knowledgeable advice whenever required. This customer service has established W H Mogford & Son as a reputable and trustworthy hardware store with an extensive range of products and a dedication to customer service. With their vast array of experience and extensive knowledge in the industry, our team will always go above and beyond for our customers whenever possible to exceed their expectations and leave them extremely satisfied. We can assure you whatever you are looking for we are bound to have it here at W H Mogford & Son and if not, we will gladly source it for you. We are also members of the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses).
