We were recently contacted to re-render this property due to the customer unfortunately not being happy with the previous work carried out.

Just to clarify — these photos are ONLY at base coat stage. This property will actually be receiving our first sprayed cork render finish system once the material arrives, which we’re really looking forward to applying 👌

This one has definitely been a challenging project from the start. The front elevation had multiple issues with the wall bowing, curving and dipping in different directions, especially above the windows and towards the roof line.

In some areas we’ve had to build the wall out by up to 120mm, then feather it back into virtually nothing to improve the overall appearance and straighten everything up as much as physically possible. It’s been a real head-scratcher at times, but also a very enjoyable project to get stuck into.

We’re not claiming the wall is laser-level perfect — because realistically, with how far the original wall had moved over the years, that simply wasn’t achievable without rebuilding major sections. But what we have done is massively improve the overall look, lines and finish while keeping everything strong, reinforced and ready for the final system.

The property has now been fully rebased and reinforced, and we’re now at the exciting stage of waiting for the cork render to arrive so we can get this one over the line 🙌

Day 5: Awaab's Story — A Two-Year-Old's Name Became Law.
In December 2020, two-year-old Awaab Ishak died from a respiratory condition caused by prolonged exposure to mould in his family's social housing home in Rochdale.
