Last night something happened.
It’s been a tough few weeks for various reasons and I have been questioning the point of it all.
After a huge investment in the spa garden which was a bold statement as part of my now flying solo, the orange man across the pond starting blowing things up and once again economic uncertainty started to raise its head and custom declined.
My local ‘competition’ seemed to up the anti on spreading BS about us. Customers reaching out telling me they were informed I’d gone out of business and the like 🙄
I’d heard industry talk of how I was expected to fail.
Why couldn’t I just get a break.
Launching the The SELF Centre clearly took more out of me than I realised - I think I forgot it’s a whole new business and most people wouldn’t be able to add that into their existing workload like I have.
All whilst going through the aftermath of a difficult break up and maintaining a front so nobody would think I was falling apart.
I was diagnosed with executive burnout through blood tests and hair analysis and was told to stop pushing on before I snapped. I kept pushing. What else would I do.
My average day in the past 4 weeks has been 15/16 hrs long easily.
I look back now and understand why I’ve felt stress and overwhelm at an all time high.
I honestly think if I hadn’t been exercising, eating well, spending time in nature, having IV infusions and using all the tools at the showroom for my wellness that I would have broken some time ago 🥹
But this week I have really struggled. The questioning of my own ability, choices and purpose has been relentless.
But, last night something happened.
A father and his son came to try a swimspa. I welcomed them excitedly as I always do even though I felt on my last legs, I just wanted to go home to bed.
They spent 2 hours swimming, ice bath dipping, being massaged by the hot tubs, drinking hot chocolate, asking questions, enjoying what I have created and I saw the smiles, the happiness and it made me reflect.
BUT the big shift came when I was told how this has been the best showroom and customer experience that had received in their swimspa buying journey by far. Their gratitude for my time, enthusiasm, knowledge, showroom setup and product offering made me want to cry - happy tears obviously!
We were the third company they visited.
This is why I invested in the showroom, this is why I show up so passionately and I’m so grateful to that father and son for helping me see it at a time when it’s all felt a bit meh.
Wether they but from me or not, it doesn’t matter. What matters is how I show up. And boy do I show up.
I’m bloody proud of what the team and I have created, of who we are and what we do ❤️
