EXPERIENCED YARD ASSISTANT

Due to continued growth, Towy Works Ltd is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Yard Sales Assistant to join our friendly team at our Ammanford branch.
This is a hands-on role, working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable working in all weather conditions.
The Role
As an Experienced Yard Sales Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:
• Accepting deliveries from suppliers and checking goods on arrival.
• Operating a forklift and carrying out loading and unloading duties as required.
• Checking all products accurately and efficiently, including quantities and any damage.
• Ensuring materials are loaded and unloaded safely from vehicles.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe yard and warehouse environment.
• Serving and assisting customers in the yard and warehouse.
• Providing a friendly, professional and helpful service to customers at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Is an experienced and reliable team player who can also work confidently on their own initiative.
• Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Is courteous, approachable and welcoming.
• Has a positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Holds an essential Counterbalance or Teletruk forklift licence.
• Has good knowledge of building materials.
• Has previous experience working within a builders' merchants environment.
• Is physically fit and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Alternate Saturday mornings: 8:00am – 12:00pm

HGV CLASS 2 HIAB LORRY DRIVER

We have a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Lorry Driver to join our busy logistics team based at our premises in Ammanford.

You will be responsible for delivering building materials etc. throughout South Wales on a 4/6-Wheel Rigid Lorry Vehicle with HIAB Offload Facility.

Duties will include
• supporting the branch staff in loading and unloading your vehicle
• supporting the business as a Transit/Van Driver to cover holidays and when required

We are seeking someone who:
• Has good knowledge and experience of delivering lightside and heavyside building products.
• Is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering an outstanding level of customer service.
• Possesses a clean driving licence (preferable).

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm plus alternate Saturday mornings 8.00am to 12.00pm.

A huge congratulations to Paul and the team
At Towy Works Builders Merchant & Jones Brothers (Henllan) Ltd, we were incredibly proud to support Paul Thorburn and his team as they took on the Paddle, Peak & Pedal – The Welsh Challenge, raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) and Prostate Cymru.
Our team members Lee and Charles were delighted to assist with the logistics along the way, helping to load and transport all eight kayaks from Stackpole Harbour to Parrog, Newport, ready for the next stage of their journey.
What started as an ambitious challenge has now been successfully completed, and we want to congratulate Paul and all seven members of the team on an incredible achievement.
Their determination, teamwork and commitment throughout the challenge have been truly inspiring, particularly as they took on such a demanding journey in support of two very important causes.
We were proud to play a small part in helping the team along the way, and even prouder to see them cross the finish line.
Congratulations Paul and the whole team — an incredible achievement for two great causes.
