Is your lawn looking tired or spongy? It might be time to scarify!

Scarification removes dead thatch and moss so nutrients can reach the roots, but timing is everything for a quick recovery.

🍂 When to Scarify
Early Autumn (Sept–Oct): Ideal for heavy thatch removal. Warm soil and autumn rain ensure rapid recovery.
Spring (Apr–May): Best for a light pass to clear winter moss. Wait until soil stays above 7°C.
🚫 When to Avoid
Extreme Weather: Avoid winter frost (damages roots) and summer heatwaves (stresses the lawn).
New Lawns: Wait 1 to 2 years before scarifying newly laid turf or seed.
🔍 Signs You Need It
The grass feels spongy underfoot.
Moss or dead thatch is over 1cm thick.
Water pools on the surface due to poor drainage.
