The first sound is a school bell. The second is traditional roofing material being cut — noise that can reach 100–110 dB, a level comparable to a jackhammer. Which one will the classroom hear?

That was one of the key questions when selecting a roofing solution for the renovation of St Paul’s Catholic School in Milton Keynes. The roofing work had to be completed without disrupting students’ learning during term-time.

We mean BISF homes, which were built in the UK after the Second World War as a rapid housing solution. Their intended service life was only 10–15 years.
