It’s been a tough start to 2026 with delays to work beginning on the pedestrianisation of Market St severely affecting footfall.

While we hope the plans will be positive for both the town and for local businesses, we have seen takings halved based on previous Januarys. This is harder to take when visible progress hasn’t really materialised yet.

Thank you to everyone who continues to shop local and support us. We know it’s a little more difficult to reach us than normal and the street isn’t quite as welcoming as usual but we appreciate your custom now as much as we ever have in our 38 years of trading.

Finishing 2024 off with some of those jobs around the house you’ve been avoiding?! Still not 100% sure what day it is?

We’re open today (Monday) and tomorrow (NYE) on slightly reduced hours, closed on Wednesday (New Years’ Day) and back on Thursday (2nd) on our normal opening times.
