We recently took part in the WYCA Leadership and Workplace Programme, speaking openly about workplace culture and what it means to us at Scissett DIY.

In this video, Chris talks honestly about how being supported at work gives him the confidence to be himself, enjoy serving customers and bring positivity into the shop every day — and customers genuinely feel that energy.

We also speak about how much of a difference it makes when your bosses genuinely care about you as a person. Feeling supported and appreciated makes you want to work harder, do better and give more back to the people around you.

Workplace culture isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making people feel valued, supported and comfortable being themselves.

Monday – Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 16:00
Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00

We believe we have a family of wag tails living in our roof space and 2 have come through in to main shop area 🤔

Would be nice to see if we can help but don’t have any long enough ladders to reach up and check if there’s a nest / see if we can help them find a safe way out!

After 4 fantastic years with us at Scissett DIY, it’s time to say a proper goodbye to Lewis — or Lew, as we all know him.

To celebrate his retirement, the whole team headed out together for one last hoorah, and what a send-off it was! A great night full of laughs, memories, and plenty of well-deserved appreciation for everything Lew has brought to the team over the years.

Lew has been a valued part of Scissett DIY, always ready with a helping hand and a friendly face. He’ll certainly be missed around the shop.

Now it’s time for him to put his feet up and enjoy a well-earned rest — we hope retirement brings plenty of relaxation, good times, and maybe a few lie-ins too!
