With Wimbledon starting today, we can't help but feel a bit proud looking back at this project.

Back in 2022 we had the incredible opportunity to work on Centre Court's centenary renovations. And honestly? It was one of those jobs that kept us up at night - not because we were worried, but because we knew how special it was.

The brief was pretty straightforward on paper: recreate concrete panels that matched the original design from 100 years ago. But then you realise you're working on the Centre Court. The pressure was... well, let's just say we double-checked everything twice!

We had to cast our UHPC using moulds that would replicate those century-old patterns exactly. Every detail mattered, even down to the last chip (which they wanted to keep to retain it's heritage). The panels were finished in that famous Wimbledon Green and blend seamlessly with the existing concrete around the Royal Box.

Perhaps the trickiest part was knowing that millions of people would see this work during the tournament. No pressure, right? But we pulled it off. The panels now sit permanently at either end of Centre Court, and honestly, you can't tell where the old ends and our work begins. Which is exactly what we were going for.

It's projects like these that remind us why we love what we do. Working alongside the brilliant team at made it even better - not every day you get to leave your mark on sporting history with partners who understand the craft as much as you do.

What an incredible project this was, not only a magnificent installation but in the picturesque setting of beautiful Whitby in Yorkshire!

Facilitated and funded by , we’ve transformed a section of the River Esk estuary by installing 25 square metres of our beautiful SeaHive panels as well as 8 reef cubes (one of which went “temporarily missing” after getting caught up in the overnight tide and floated 500 yards downriver 🤣)

The stunning backdrop of Whitby’s historic Abbey, charming harbour and scenic coastline combined with the sunny weather really was a treat.

This project brought together expertise from Littorina, and CubeX. Public sentiment has been fantastic, a huge help from for facilitating the engagement of local community members through the “Artecology CoCreate” hands-on methodology, contributing their creativity that is now permanently installed.

These will probably be the only pictures you will see of it looking more like an art installation as soon enough it’ll become a vibrant habitat teeming with seaweeds, whelks, periwinkles and various other marine critters. If you’re ever in Whitby, go take a stroll to find them and feel free to tag us so we can see what it all looks like! Thank you to all involved in making this project a reality 🙌

Flashback Friday: Photographic Works

Flashback Friday: The contemporary Photographic Works development celebrates Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter’s heritage and style. We worked with RECKLI on a large rib design and panels with various ranges in size, which made it a difficult but rewarding project. We worked to tight deadlines and produced large beautiful pewter coloured elements to bring this project to life.
