Now is the time to focus on ration balancing 🐄

The latest data shows UK milk supplies are dropping off at a rate of 5% a week compared with last year, so ensuring cows have a balanced diet remains key this season.

With most cows now housed for winter and varied forage samples being seen, it’s important to get your forage tested to ensure diets are correctly balanced.

Feed markets have levelled off, meaning strategic feeding remains a cost-effective approach. There is also no better time to milk to your milk contract, helping to align production and feeding decisions.

A DAY ALL ABOUT SOIL & GRASSLAND 🌱

Yesterday, we headed to Blaenbwch Farm with NFU Cymru for an afternoon filled with tips about soil health and effective grassland management.

Farmers that joined us had the chance to earn CPD points while learning about herbal leys, grassland management, soil health, sheep dipping, pesticides & the support available through the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS).

The event also included a farm tour with members of our team who shared insight on how seed mixtures can be used to improve soil health, increase drought resilience and boost livestock performance.

Yesterday, a team of Wynnstay colleagues took on the Oswestry 10K in support of our charity partner, the Samaritans.
It was great to see colleagues from across the business come together to tackle the challenge, cheered on by family, friends and supporters along the route.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful to those who donated and helped raise awareness for a charity that provides vital support to people when they need it most.
