The largest independent stockist of fixings, fasteners & ironmongery in Hull -Trade Counter OPEN

F R Scott Limited is the largest independent ironmongers in the Hull area. Formed in 1943 we operated as ironmongers, heating engineers, locksmiths and refrigeration engineers, supplying both industry and farmers with their daily requirements. We have been located at various premises in Hull including Castle Street and Portland place. Nowadays we operate from our 30,000 sq ft warehouse in Canning Street employing over 40 staff. Architectural and builders` ironmongery, fasteners and tools are supplied to industry, builders, engineers, the rural community and the public throughout East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. We have a large stockholding, over 20,000 different products are held on stock, and can supply all our customers needs from this stock thereby providing a quick and efficient service. Deliveries are made by our own vehicles, frequently on the same day that the order was received. Goods can also be collected from the trade counter, where our friendly and helpful staff are only to pleased to assist. Our mechanical services department supplies heating, pipe work installation and maintenance to commercial and industrial customers. Much of the work is done for local authorities providing schools and similar government properties with their heating and maintenance.

The latest shiny new addition to our fleet has hit the road!

Used by our field Kanban management stock team, this one has a longer wheel base then we normally take, to enable us to carry double the amount of pallet cages.

This means that even when our customers hit a production spike and are going through a higher run rate of fixings, we are on top of it efficiently.

Their production will never slow or stop as we ensure they'll never run out.

Thanks to the great team at Designs Signage Solutions Ltd for the wrap, keeping the branding in line with our other vehicles.

If keeping on top of fixings, ironmongery and consumables is taking too much of your time, let us take that headache away....

We are delighted to share that F R Scott Ltd has been shortlisted for Small Business of the Year in the HEY Business Awards 2026!

There are some amazing businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire that have done great things over the last 12 months, so to be recognised alongside them is something we are extremely proud of.

For over 80 years, we’ve been proud to call Hull our home, and while we’ve grown and evolved over those years, one thing has never changed - our commitment to looking after our customers, our people and supporting our local community.

From investing in our team and developing new talent to finding smarter ways to help our customers save time, effort and money, we’re always looking for ways to move forward.

A huge thank you to our fantastic team. It’s their hard work, dedication and commitment to doing things properly that makes achievements like this possible.

Congratulations to all the other finalists. We’re looking forward to celebrating with you 🥂

Good luck to our colleague Jon Fish who this weekend is cycling 170 miles across Yorkshire in support of Andys Man Club

His 'Pedal to the Puck' challenge leans on his love of Trojan Hull Seahawks

It sees him starting out at the Hull Ice Arena riding to Ice Sheffield - watching Sheffield Steeldogs V Telford Tigers.

Then on to Planet Ice in Leeds to watch Leeds Knights V Milton Keynes Lighting before heading back home to watch the Seahawks play Basingstoke Bisons.

An accomplished cyclist, what makes this challenge even harder is that he is ditching his usual Giant TCR road racing bike and completing all 170 miles on a basic single speed bike!

And everyone at FR Scott wishes him well 🚲

We are pleased to share that FR Scott will be supporting Beverley Town Football Club with our logo on show pitch side at the We Are Gateway Stadium.

Beverley Town have delivered two promotions in three seasons and are now competing in the Northern Premier League East for the very first time.

It's great to be backing another ambitious local club as they make the step up, and our sponsorship board looks fantastic - right next to the goal!

Beverley Town join fellow partner clubs Hessle Rangers CIC , FC Esperanza , Priory Tigers, Hull & East Yorkshire PFC and East Riding Schools.

At the weekend 12 of our team took part in 'It's a Knockout' in aid of Dove House Hospice

Colleagues from across our sales, finance, procurement, warehouse & mechanical services department came together to form two teams...

The FR Scott NUTS & The FR Scott BOLTS 🔩

After a number of challenges, taking on obstacles & inflatables covered in foam and water, the Bolts won the FR Scott head to head and ended the day 5th overall.

The good news is that, as a business, we managed to raise over £1,300 for a great local cause.

Thank you to our customers and suppliers, along with friends and family, that supported us and donated.

And to those who cheered us on during the day!

As the new grass roots season kicks off across Hull & East Yorkshire this coming weekend we are delighted to share that FR Scott will be supporting Hessle Rangers CIC girls and sponsoring their U14 Hawks.

Grassroots sports are a great way for children to keep fit and build their communication skills along with learning resilience, determination and how to win & lose.

Our local support helps ensure teams like Hessle, and their amazing volunteer coaches, can provide the kit and equipment needed to help their players reach their full potential.

And it's the construction, modular, joinery & engineering businesses of Hull that help make this happen - by using local suppliers like us for fixings, ironmongery & consumables - rather than the big national chains.

Hessle Rangers join fellow FR Scott partner clubs Priory Tigers, FC Esperanza , Hull & East Yorkshire PFC and East Riding Schools.

And we'll have even more coming soon 👀
